Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 25, 2025

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of EpicWorlds.app and any related services (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who we are

EpicWorlds.app provides fan-made tools for tabletop roleplaying games. Contact us at hello@epicworlds.app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are in a jurisdiction with a higher minimum age for online services, you must meet that age requirement. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Your account

You are responsible for your account and all activity under it. Keep your credentials secure and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

4. Your content and ownership

You retain all right, title, and interest in the content you create or upload to the Service (“User Content”). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt, display, and distribute User Content solely to operate, improve, and provide the Service (including backups, content delivery, and technical processing). You may delete your content at any time; residual copies may persist in backups for a limited period.

You represent that you have the necessary rights to the User Content you post and that it does not infringe any third-party rights or violate law or these Terms.

5. Acceptable use

  • Do not upload content that is unlawful, infringing, harassing, hateful, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Do not attempt to breach, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Do not interfere with or disrupt the Service or other users.
  • Do not misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.

6. Licensed rules content and attribution

Parts of the Service may display or reference content licensed under open licenses:

  • D&D SRD 5.2.1 (CC BY 4.0): Where used, we include the required attribution: “This work includes material from the System Reference Document 5.2.1 (“SRD 5.2.1”) by Wizards of the Coast LLC, available at https://www.dndbeyond.com/srd. The SRD 5.2.1 is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, available at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode.”
  • Daggerheart SRD (DPCGL): Where we include Public Game Content from the Daggerheart SRD, we provide attribution such as: “This product includes materials from the Daggerheart System Reference Document 1.0, © Critical Role, LLC, under the terms of the Darrington Press Community Gaming License. More information can be found at https://www.daggerheart.com.” We also include the “no endorsement” language required by the DPCGL.

Name Marks may be used only to indicate compatibility, not endorsement. Where used in marketing/description, they must appear with “Compatible,” e.g., “Compatible with Daggerheart,” and they must not be used in titles or front covers. You agree to follow these rules in any content you publish via the Service.

7. Our IP

The Service (including software, designs, and branding) is our intellectual property or that of our licensors. Except for your rights to use the Service under these Terms and any applicable open licenses, no rights are transferred to you. Do not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service.

8. Community content and third-party materials

The Service may allow users to share content. We do not endorse or assume responsibility for user-generated or third-party content. You access such content at your own risk.

9. Moderation and takedowns

We may remove or restrict content that violates law, these Terms, or third-party rights. We may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly infringe. To report alleged infringement, contact hello@epicworlds.app with sufficient detail to locate the material and verify your rights.

10. Beta features and changes

We may offer experimental or beta features that can change, break, or be removed. We may modify or discontinue the Service at any time with or without notice.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for any violation of these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Upon termination, Sections 4, 6–16 survive.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50.

14. Indemnity

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless EpicWorlds.app from and against claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your User Content or your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where EpicWorlds.app is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The exclusive venue for disputes will be the courts located in that jurisdiction.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice (for example, in-app or by email). Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.

17. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement: these Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
  • Severability: if any part is unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.
  • No waiver: our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
  • Assignment: you may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them.
